Chairman of the Board & Artistic Director of GAPA Men’s Chorus
Randy has led GAPA Men’s Chorus since 1991 and is a San Francisco resident for over 40 years. He is a retired UCSF analyst and has served in various nonprofit boards for decades, including Golden Gate Men’s Chorus (GGMC) where he was a founding member in 1982. He currently sings for GGMC and their elite ensemble Counterpoint and serves as their CFO. Randy holds an AB in German Literature from Harvard and MA in Linguistics from UC Berkeley.
Co-Founder, Chief Financial Officer & Secretary
Oliver joined GAPA Men’s Chorus in 2015. He served as treasurer for the chorus and then for the board of GLBTQ+ Asian Pacific Alliance (GAPA) from 2016 to 2022. He became one of GAPA Fund’s founding directors in 2019. Oliver is works in the biotech sector. He has a BS in Biological Science from Cal State East Bay and MBA in Global Management from the University of Phoenix.

Michael joined GAPA Men’s Chorus in 2018. He is a mechanical engineer and project manager working in the hi-tech industry. Michael received his MS in Engineering from the ENSTA in Paris where he grew up.

Chris is an artist with GAPA Theatre and has performed in theatrical productions throughout the San Francisco Bay Area over the years. He is a founding member of the Rice Rockettes, San Francisco’s premier Asian American and Pacific Islander drag troupe. He works in the life sciences industry. He holds a BS in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley.

Danny joined GAPA Men’s Chorus in 1994 and after a hiatus returned in 2012. Danny was elected previously as the first openly gay city council member in Oakland. He is currently the Executive Director for the Port of Oakland. Danny received a BA in Rhetoric and Master of Education from UC Berkeley and JD from UCLA.
Board Director & Manager of GAPA Men’s Chorus
Dino is a founding member of GAPA in 1988 and of GAPA Men’s Chorus in 1989. He serves as a link to our institutional history; he sings in chorus, writes for theatre, and advises GAPA and GAPA Fund. Dino has supported numerous community-based arts and cultural organizations as a grant writer. Dino holds a BA in English from UC Berkeley and a JD from the New College of California.
Board Director, Ex Officio & Chairman of the Board of GLBTQ+ Asian Pacific Alliance (GAPA)
Rowland has been on the GAPA board for five years. He is passionate about uplifting the Queer Trans Asian & Pacific Islander community and enjoys producing events and creating safe spaces for folks to gather. Currently, he is the Associate Director of Prevention Services at the San Francisco Community Center, overseeing various community public health and social programs. He holds a BS in Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
Artistic Director of GAPA Theatre
César is a writer, actor, and solo performance artist and the current Artistic Director of GAPA Theatre. He has presented his work in various forums, including Not My First Pandemic, which received Best One Man Show and All About Solo Critics Award at United Solo Festival in New York City in 2021. Cesar was a fellow for the Interdisciplinary Writers Lab and was an artist-in-residence at the Queer Cultural Center. Cesar also works in development for the University of California.
Accompanist of GAPA Men’s Chorus
Desmond joined GAPA Men’s Chorus in 1993. Desmond received undergraduate and graduate degrees in Piano from the Sherwood Conservatory of Music of the Columbia College Chicago, and the Music and Arts Institute of San Francisco, respectively, and his licentiate from the London College of Music of the University of West London.
